PANAMA TAKING STEPS TO BECOME A MEMBER STATE OF THE INTERNATIONAL HYDROGRAPHIC ORGANIZATION

In the Cabinet Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Janaina Tewaney Mencomo, was authorized to present to the National Assembly the approval of the Agreement that aims to establish, in accordance with International Law, the International Hydrographic Organization, as an intergovernmental organization of a consultative nature and technique.

In this way, Panama would become a Member State of this Organization, which ensures the safety of maritime navigation and reaffirms the position of the Panamanian State as a leading country in the maritime sector worldwide.
